What happened
The driver of a white Toyota Hiace minibus taxi, registration [plate number], drove on the pavement on Long Lake Boulevard in Modderfontein to get past traffic. A pavement is reserved for pedestrians and may not be driven on under South African road rules. Using it as a driving lane puts pedestrians at direct risk, since they have nowhere to move to when a vehicle comes up behind them.
