What happened
The driver of a white Nissan NP200, registration KK31FNGP, failed to stop at stop streets on Centenary Street in Modderfontein and drove over the yellow painted islands to overtake queuing traffic before cutting back in ahead of the vehicles that had been waiting their turn. A stop street requires every vehicle to come to a complete stop behind the line before proceeding, and a painted island is a prohibited area under South African road rules that may not be driven on or used to overtake.
