About Padvark
Padvark (Afrikaans for "road hog") is a community website where South Africans report bad driving: skipped stop streets, red lights, reckless overtaking and the like. Jy weet wie jy is.

What Padvark is
Every report, which we call an incident, shows photos of the vehicle and its number plate, and sometimes a YouTube video of what happened. Registered users submit incidents, and a moderator reviews every one before it goes public.
The idea is simple: when bad driving is visible, it becomes less acceptable. Padvark gives ordinary road users a place to put it on the record, and lets everyone see which vehicles keep coming up.
Our two principles
- Offender privacy. No faces of vehicle occupants may ever be shown. We report vehicles and driving, not people. Listings that show faces are rejected or removed.
- Reporter anonymity. Reporters are only ever shown by their username. Real names and email addresses are never displayed, and we strip all metadata (such as GPS location and device details) from uploaded photos. Videos are links to YouTube, where the reporter posts them.
Every report is reviewed
Nothing appears on Padvark before a moderator has checked it. We look at whether the photos show a real traffic offence, whether the plate is visible, whether any faces are visible and whether the description sticks to the facts. You can read exactly what we allow in our content rules.
What Padvark is not
Padvark is not a law enforcement agency and does not issue fines. A listing is a report by a member of the public, not proof that an offence was committed or a finding against anyone.
If you want the authorities to act, you can also report the incident to Arrive Alive and the RTMC. After you submit a report, we prepare everything you need for their form.
Never take the law into your own hands. Don't confront, follow or threaten anyone because of something you saw on Padvark.
If we got it wrong
If you believe a listing is inaccurate, or you own a vehicle that appears on Padvark and want to dispute a report, use the "Report this listing" button on the listing, or read how removal requests work.
