Content rules

Padvark is about bad driving, not about people. These rules keep it fair, safe and legal. Moderators apply them to every report, and listings that break them are rejected or removed.

No faces. Ever.

Photos and videos must not show the faces of anyone inside the vehicle: not the driver, not passengers and not children. This is our most important rule.

Use the Blur button on a photo to pixelate a face or cover it with our pig.

That includes faces that are partly visible, visible through a windscreen or side window, or reflected in a mirror. If you're not sure, crop the photo or leave it out.

The faces of bystanders, pedestrians and other road users must not be recognisable either.

Reports that show faces are rejected. If a published listing turns out to show a face, it is hidden and then removed. When three people report a listing for showing faces, it is hidden automatically until a moderator has checked it.

Show the vehicle and the plate

At least one photo must clearly show the number plate. Photos should show the vehicle and the offence, for example the vehicle in the emergency lane or past the stop line.

If the vehicle is a company vehicle, blur any telephone numbers, website addresses and email addresses on it in every photo and in the video. Reports that show them are rejected.

Videos must be as short as possible: cut dashcam footage down to just the incident, and show only the vehicle committing the offence.

Describe what happened, factually

Stick to what you saw: where, when and what the driver did. Write it the way you would tell it to a traffic officer.

Don't guess at the driver's identity, motives or character, and don't draw conclusions you can't back up.

What is not allowed

  • Abusive, threatening, hateful or defamatory language, including insults, name-calling and accusations beyond what you saw.
  • Private information: names, phone numbers, home or work addresses, ID numbers, social media profiles or anything else that identifies a person.
  • Footage captured illegally or dangerously, such as filming while you were driving.
  • Photos or videos you didn't take yourself and don't have the right to share.
  • Content that isn't about a traffic offence, such as parking disputes with neighbours, personal feuds or advertising.
  • Calls for action against the driver, such as asking people to find, confront or harass them.
  • Edited, staged or misleading images, and reports you know to be false.
  • Duplicate reports of the same incident.
  • Children's faces, or anything else that identifies a child.

Stay safe and legal

  • Never film while you are driving. Use a dashcam or ask a passenger.
  • Don't follow, confront or block another driver to get evidence.
  • By submitting a report, you confirm that you didn't break the law while capturing the footage.

What happens when rules are broken

Moderators reject reports that break these rules and tell the reporter why. Published listings that turn out to break them are hidden or removed. Accounts that repeatedly break the rules or submit false reports are suspended.

If you see a listing that breaks these rules, use the "Report this listing" button on the listing.
