N3 Toll Route | Traffic Alert | Major crash on Van Reenen Pass. TOTAL ROAD CLOSURE | 13H30

13H30, 27 Oct 2026 — *A serious, fatal crash involving two trucks and a light motor vehicle has been reported at N3-6X 46.0N (between the Sand River and Pyramids Hotel) on the N3 Toll Route. As a result, Van Reenen Pass is currently closed to traffic.

Emergency services and road incident management teams are attending to the scene, but given the extent of the crash, road users are warned to expect traffic disruptions and delays while the recovery and cleanup operations continue.

“Please pay attention to and obey the instructions of law enforcement officers and approach the area with caution. If possible, road users are advised to delay travel to Van Reenen Pass until further notice,” says Ms Dhoogra, chief operating officer of N3TC.
