Stopping in an unsafe or illegal place: reports from South African roads

Unsafe stopping is pulling up in a place that blocks traffic or hides the vehicle, such as in a traffic lane, on a blind bend, or a taxi dropping passengers in the middle of the road. Cars behind have little warning and can run into the stopped vehicle. Report it with the plate, the place and the time.

Staying safe

Stop only where it is safe and legal, and switch on your hazard lights if you must stop on the road.
